THE Dartford Crossing tolls have been suspended following a four-lorry smash.
The crash happened just after 12.30pm today, forcing one of the Dartford tunnel's western bore to close.
Charges northbound were suspended at around 4.30pm and will be suspended until further notice. They are only lifted when queues stretch back more than 10 miles.
Traffic is currently stacked back to Junction 4 for Orpington in Kent.
Up to 70 metres of the M25/A282 carriageway needs to be resurfaced following the collision.
A Highways Agency spokesman said: "The incident, which happened at around 12.30 this afternoon, involved four HGVs.
"We are working hard with our contractors to reopen the west bore as soon as it is safe to do so, which requires approximately 70 metres of the carriageway to be resurfaced. The east bore remains open to traffic."
