A NEW world record for the longest line of fanfare trumpeters was set during an event in Thurrock.

The Thurrock Marching Brass played host to the annual DCUK event at the Aveley Football Club in Mill Road on Sunday, September 7.

On the day, 105 participants took part in the world record attempt and succeeded.

The previous record for the longest fanfare line of trumpeters stood at 92.

The world record attempt has been approved by the Guinness World Records today.

Paul Morgan, chairman of the Thurrock Marching Brass, said: “Wow Wow Wow!! I am so very proud of each and every participant for the way that they have come together as a team with absolutely no prior unified ensemble work given the challenging logistics.”
