THE Thurrock Community Chest hosted a recognition event for organisations that had sold tickets and received grants in the last year.

The Grays Athletic Football Club 1890 Supporters Trust, in partnership with Grays Athletic Football Club, were the largest ticket sellers for the charity in Thurrock, which is second only to St. Luke’s Hospice as a fundraiser, and had only been selling Community Chest tickets for six months.

The club has used the money raised from selling Community Chest tickets to support the under-16s, under-18s and under- 21s teams. Other groups presented with certificates of achievement were the Snowdon Club, Belhus Park Scout Group, the Martial Academy of Tilbury, Thurrock Spectrum Brass, Tilbury Majorettes, HPCT, Grays&Thurrock First Responders, Thurrock Neighborhood Watch, Ockendon Scout & Guide Group, Thurrock Lions and St Luke’s Hospice.

Adrian Taylor was recognised as the top ticket seller.

The Thurrock Community Chest was founded in 1999 and has become a leading Thurrock charity.
