MUSICIAN Chas Hodges is due in Thurrock for a nostalgic evening.

For one night only, the Corringham Hall will be welcoming the legendary singer, where he will take questions from the audience and tell stories of his life as part of the biggest duo in the music business – Chas & Dave.

Chas will be taking the stage at the hall, in Springhouse Road, on Sunday, October 26.

The show will be filmed as part of a promotional DVD and audience participation will make for a perfect evening’s entertainment.

The musician is best known for being one half – and lead vocalist – of Chas & Dave.

In his earlier career, Chas went on tour in Britain and Europe as bass player for Jerry Lee Lewis, watching and learning about how to play rock piano from a master. Later he joined Cliff Bennett & the Rebel Rousers.

Chas also worked with the producer Joe Meek as a session musician.

He then joined Albert Lee’s band Heads Hands & Feet, before playing with Dave Peacock (Dave) and Albert Lee in Black Claw.

Chas & Dave was formed in 1975 and the duo went on to rack up a string of big hits.

In 2008, Chas published a book called “Chas & Dave: All about us”, which took him a quarter of a century to write.

Tickets for “An Audience with Chas Hodges” are £7.50 and can be ordered at www.corringham villagehall.co.uk
