AFED-UP resident has made a fresh appeal for a stretch of road in Orsett to be improved after witnessing two crashes in less than a month.

Justine Webb, who lives in Brentwood Road, was woken at about 6am last Thursday by a crash between a car and a lorry in the road near the Orsett Cock roundabout.

It is believed the car driver then lost control and crashed into the wall of Miss Webb’s front garden.

She said: “The number of accidents I have seen outside of my house is horrendous – and this time the car crashed right into my wall.

“It seems to have rebounded off the lorry and right into my wall.”

Following the accident, one man was taken to Basildon Hospital with a chest injury, which was not thought to be life-threatening.

Miss Webb, 39, is urging the council to improve the part of the road where the accident happened.

It is the same area in which two men had a miracle escape in a crash on Friday, September 26, which featured on the Gazette’s front page. Miss Webb added: “We are always on the edge because we know the area outside of our home is an accident hot-spot.

“Lorries cannot see right as they are pulling out of the layby, which makes it very dangerous with oncoming traffic being fast.

“I must have about 25 DVDs with the number of accidents caught on my CCTV. There must be ten to 20 accidents in a year. It is ridiculous.”
