A YOUNGSTER’S dream jumbo jet bedroom has been recreated at intu Lakeside shopping centre.

Leo Fairhall, 3, was helped by his uncle, 7-year-old Charlie Davis, both from Tiptree, to design an aeronautical room of his dreams in a competition run by Ikea which asked children to draw their ideal bedroom to read books in.

The design, incorporating a raised bed which is shaped like a jumbo jet that can be reached by aeroplane steps, will be in the shopping centre until Friday, October 31.

Charlie and Leo beat off over 100 other under 12s to have their drawing chosen above all others entered.

Leo, who revealed he had sacrificed his bigger room so his younger sister could have more space to store her belongings and have a larger space in which to play, will receive a donation from IKEA to make the bedroom of his dreams once the exhibition is over.
