FOLLOWING her online poetry success, Thurrock writer Emma Robinson has published a book of poems and prose in time for Christmas.

In two days, online bookseller Amazon had sold more than 200 copies and the book had become the bestseller in the “Motherhood” category.

Emma, an English teacher and literacy co-ordinator at St Clere’s School, in Butts Lane, Stanford-le-Hope, published the book after it was requested by several readers of her blog.

She said: “I had been told there wasn’t a big market for poetry books, but some of the readers of my blog had asked for a book they could buy as a gift for friends who weren’t online.

“I kept the price as low as I could in the hope people might decide to buy them as stocking fillers for Christmas.”

Motherhood for Slackers: Poetry and Prose is a collection of humorous and touching poems and short pieces on a variety of topics about motherhood.

It is available on Amazon for £2.99. For more information on Emma’s work, join her Facebook page or visit www.motherhood forslackers.blogspot.co.uk
