Thieves stole £12,000 of valuable jewellery from a house in Grays.
Police are appealing for information after suspects broke into a house through a downstairs bathroom window of a house in Bridge Road between 4.45pm and 5.30pm on November 26.
Once inside they made a tidy search of the house and stole Asian gold jewellery including gold bangles and bracelets, necklaces and earrings.
More than £1,800 in cash was also taken.
Investigating officer Pc Nicola Hadfield said: "The family have been left extremely distressed by the loss of these items.
"They were being kept at the house following a family wedding and the money was also part of a wedding gift.
"If anyone saw any suspicious behaviour in the area at the relevant times or has been offered any of these items for sale I would definitely want to know.”
PC Hadfield can be contacted at Grays Police Station on 101, alternatively anyone with information can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
