LEVEL crossings in East Tilbury and Fobbing will close next month to allow Network Rail to carry out maintenance work.

The crossings at Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury, and High Road, Fobbing, will be shut and diversions will be signposted.

The Fobbing crossing is likely to be shut throughout Sunday, February 15, closing at 1.05am with the order remaining in place until 2.50am on Monday, February 16. The road will open earlier if possible.

The diversion route will be via High Road, Lion Hill, Fobbing Road, Lampits Hill, Southend Road, and High Road.

A similar closure will be at the East Tilbury crossing between the junction of Halt Drive and the Gobions Park entrance.

The 12-hour closure will be between 1am and 1pm on Sunday, February, 15, and again the road will reopen earlier if Network Rail’s maintenance is completed.

The alternative route is via Princess Margaret Road, Station Road, Church Road, Blue Anchor Lane and Muckingford Road.
