THURROCK’S Finding Miranda are launching their second EP.

The four-piece indie, rock and folk band – formed two-and-a-half years ago – have spent the last year gigging hard round Essex.

The EP, called Find Ghost, features three songs – Karaoke Singers, Whether ’Tis Nobler and Summer Rain – and boasts some catchy indie-pop designed to appeal across the board.

Last year saw the band rocking Stanford Music Festival, T-Fest and Chinerys, at Southend, as well as performing gigs in their “home pub”, the Traitor’s Gate.

They say their songwriting has been sharpened on their second EP, which features a “new and more focused” sound.

The group formed after they met at an open mic night held by Thames Delta at the Traitor’s Gate, in Grays, in February 2012.

Lead singer Chay Appleyard explained: “We all have different likes, and different influences, from rock and indie to hiphop, and all of that fuses together to make something new.”

The quartet are formed of lead singer Chay, from Grays, lead guitarist Lee Tallon, from Purfleet, Jimmy Sallows, the bassist from Tilbury, and drummer Tony Buckley, from Purfleet.

You can catch them on Friday, February 6, at the Thameside Theatre, Grays, and see a video of the band on our website Thurrockgazette.co.uk. EPs are available to purchase on their Facebook page facebook.com/findingmiranda or at their gigs.
