Police are appealing for witnesses after a do-gooder was assaulted last Thursday.
The assault happened on Central Avenue in Tilbury at about 9pm after the 23-year old victim tried intervene in an argument.
The victim was walking along the alleyway leading to Central Avenue when he saw three people having a verbal altercation.
He went over to the group to try and intervene, but was assaulted.
He suffered serious head injuries.
One of the group was a white man, aged between 30 and 40 and about 5ft 6ins tall. He was bald, clean shaven and wore a dark jacket, dark jeans and dark trainers. He spoke with a foreign accent.
The second was a white man, also aged 30 to 40 and about 5ft 6ins tall. He had black, slick-backed hair, was of medium build and spoke with a foreign accent. He also wore a body warmer, T-shirt, dark jeans and white trainers.
The third person was a white woman, aged 20 to 30, of slim build and about 5ft 8ins tall. She had blonde hair with dark streaks, worn in a ponytail, and wore light jeans, a black silk jacket and black high heels. She also had an accent.
