A new exhibition of high seas battles has been launched at the Thurrock Museum.
Thurrock - All At Sea is the next in a series of Great War exhibitions at Thurrock Museum to mark 100 years since WWI.
The latest Great War story instalment will show the triumphs and losses of Her Majesty's Royal and Merchant Navy from 1914 to 1915.
Highlights include the arming of merchant ships at Tilbury Docks, the Clan MacNaughton disaster, loss of ships at Gallipoli, the tragic incident at Purfleet where naval cadets were drowned in an incident, and national disasters like the sinking of the RMS Lusitania.
The exhibition aims to show how Thurrock-based sailors were involved and lost their lives in the first years of World War One.
The exhibition has been researched and mounted by Thurrock Museum volunteers.
It will be on display on the ground floor of the Thameside complex Orsett Road, Grays, from 8 April until 18 April, from 10am to 4pm daily except Sunday.
Admission is free.
