STANFORD-LE-HOPE has given birth to its own ballet star with 11-yearold Lola Slavnich, who has been cast in a West End production of Snow White.

Lola will be starring as the Jester in the London Child Ballet Company’s original production at Sadler’s Wells in April.

The company has an international reputation for creating new ballets and last year sold out more than 8,000 tickets at the Peacock Theatre to rave reviews.

Lola went through competitive auditions against 600 of the best child dancers from across the UK to be one of 56 chosen children.

Former stars picked by London Child Ballet include Lee Hoy, the current Billy Elliott in the West End musical, and James Streeter, now a soloist with the English National Ballet.

A spokeswoman for London Child Ballet said: “Lola is a really lovely dancer and she is playing the role of the Jester, a comic role which really suits her jovial personality!”

Natalie Bray, Lola’s mother, said: “I’m really proud of her, it’s something she has worked so hard for.

“This was her second audition for London Child Ballet, so we’re thrilled that this year she got in!”

SnowWhite will be choreographed by Jenna Lee, a soloist with English National Ballet, and have an original score by Richard Norriss.

It will be at the Sadler’s Wells Peacock Theatre from the April 23 to the 26.
