PURFLEET Heritage and Military Centre will host a memorial service onMonday, to remember those lost in the Great War.
The event will commemorate the 100th anniversary since the first serviceman from Purfleet was killed.
As part of the service, 26 of Ensign Bus’s fleet will be named after the 26 soldiers commemorated on Purfleet’s war memorials and posters in the buses will tell their stories. The buses will enter service on Tuesday and run with the heroes names until November 2018.
A booklet will also go on sale with the stories behind the soldiers and their losses.
