AN investigation into the brutal assault of a man guarding clothing at a Purfleet industrial estate will feature in a reconstruction on Crimewatch tonight.

Detectives are appealing for information to try to find four attackers who beat up and seriously injured Adam Nichols, 52, on the Ensign Industrial Estate Mr Nichols was beaten and attacked with pepper spray and a stun gun before the men wrapped his head up with tape at about 7pm on Wednesday, 28 January.

Mr Nichols said they threatened to kill him if he did not hand over the keys to the white Mercedes sprinter van which he was guarding on the estate.

The attackers eventually fled empty handed after Mr Nichols managed to roll underneath the campervan which he was staying in.

Mr Nichols, who runs a delivery company with his brothers, was left with a number of injuries and is no longer able to see properly out of one eye.

Crimewatch will feature a reconstruction of what happened on January 28 and will hear from Mr Nichols about how his life has been shattered.

DS Natalia Ross will also be live in the studio and CCTV will be shown of a car police want to trace.
