Thurrock Council’s housing department is launching a new 'live session' service for tenants on Twitter.
Councillor Worrall, the Portfolio holder for Housing, said the new scheme was designed to improve support for tenants by the department.
Ms Worrall said: “The housing team piloted a live twitter session for Thurrock residents earlier this month.
“It was a two hour window with an expert on hand from each area – allocations, repairs, property management and resident engagement – to answer questions there and then.
“As a trial, we didn’t publicise it widely – we wanted to make sure there were no techie glitches, but it worked well and now we’re confident to roll it out properly.”
She added: “We hold this type of event regularly where I work at the Prince’s Trust. It’s such a great way for us to learn what matters to people, and give quick advice but of course, we will still provide housing information and services 24-hours a day at thurrock.gov.uk/housing.”
The next live Twitter session will be on Wednesday, September 2, from 11:30am until 1:30pm.
To get involved, tweet using #thurrockhousing.
Residents can also follow Thurrock Council on twitter using @thurrockcouncil.
