The Butts Lane speed limit in Stanford-le-Hope, is set to be slashed down from 40mph to 30mph, after proposals put forward by Thurrock Council’s highways team.
The new limit is being rolled out in partnership with Essex police, to reduce the speed limit currently in place.
The highways team are looking not just to cap the speed of the road but, to also impose ‘no waiting orders’ in Butts Lane, and some surrounding roads.
The no waiting zones will include the previously highlighted Butts Lane but also parts of Prospect Avenue, Augusta Road and St Andrews Way.
If there are no reasonable objections to the proposals, the current 40mph limit will be slashed to 30mph.
