HIS unforgettable on-screen quotes included: “My brother pushed me on the fish counter, and I just remember a fish in my face...I just don’t trust the fish.”

Rylan Clark may have failed to win the coveted Celebrity MasterChef trophy, but he certainly won a few laughs and a few new fans in the process.

Rylan, from Stanford-le Hope, who shot to stardom after appearing on the X Factor in 2012, made it through to finals of the celebrity cooking contest after impressing the judges with his somewhat surprising culinary skills.

The 26-year-old eventually ended up being beaten to first place by former Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt after admitting his nerves got the better of him.

But the BBC competition proved the former Celebrity Big Brother winner is worth his salt in the kitchen. He surprised many TV viewers with his ability to prepare some impressive dishes.

MasterChef fans who’ve been missing Rylan’s antics in the kitchen can now get their fill as he’s created a dish for restaurant chain Bella Italia and not surprisingly it doesn’t contain fish! Diners who venture into one of the chain’s restaurant’s, including in Southend, will be able to tuck into Rylan’s Pesto Pollo Pasta.

Rylan worked closely with Bella Italia’s executive chef, Vittorio Lettieri to create an exclusive limited-edition dish that now appears on every Bella Italia menu in the country.

His pasta dish is said to bring together “a delicious combination of fresh egg tagliatelle, pesto, roast chicken, baby spinach leaves and roasted pine nuts with a side serving of twisted pizza dough filled with mozzarella and pesto”.

Rylan said; “I absolutely love Italian food, so I couldn’t wait to get stuck into creating one of my favourite dishes especially for Bella Italia’s menu.

“I’ve tried my Pesto Pollo Pasta dish out on all of my friends and it’s gone down a storm. I can’t wait to hear what Bella customers in Southend think now they can try it for themselves.”

Rylan’s dish will be available for a limited time.
