LIVE music fans will be treated to an evening of vintage swing in Thurrock next month.
The Five Star Swing band will be playing at the Thameside Theatre in Orsett Road, Grays, on Thursday June 9.
Band member Paul Higgs told how the band members are looking forward to the performance.
He continued: “Fans have enjoyed this feel- good style of music for generations – following our extensive UK tour I’m excited to be bringing the sound of our big band brass, saxes, rhythm and vocalists back home.”
As part of their national Poppy Appeal, the show will consist of multi-instrumentalists and singers, and feature classic songs from Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Glenn Miller and many more.
As seen on BBC TV Children in Need, and Dame Vera Lynn’s Charity Ball, the show will be led by bandleader Chris Smith Jr, composer and arranger for the BBC Radio Big Band.
Tickets are priced from £13.
They are available available by calling 0845 300 5264 or visiting thurrock.gov.uk/ thameside-theatre
