A Horndon-on-the Hill artist has drawn national attention for his recent exhibition at the Well House gallery.

Tim Harrold, who created the surreal art show ‘The Perceptualist Eye’, got a winning review in the Church Times.

Mr Harrold, 55, of Bradleigh Ave, Grays, who studied at the Art Foundation Course at Thurrock Technical College and later at Brighton Polytechnic, as well as having taught art and illustrated books, said: "I was pretty gobsmacked when I saw it, and was also really pleased. I've never had a write-up in a national magazine before!"

In the review, Jonathan Evens wrote: “Tim Harrold has an eye for the lost and creates concepts that intrigue, challenge and provoke.

"That such work is being created in Thurrock, a place of transport and industry rather than art, could also be viewed as surreal.”
