POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a disturbance in which a man was assaulted and stabbed.
A large groups of youths were seen on a cricket pitch near Recreation Avenue, Corringham, at about 8pm yesterday, Thursday July 21.
There was an altercation involving two, one of them an 18-year-old, who suffered a minor stab wound to his leg.
The suspect ran off, chased by the victim, and there was a further verbal altercation outside shops in Woodbroke Way.
A 17-year-old boy from Corringham has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in custody awaiting questioning.
Enquiries are ongoing.
