Firefighters raced to put out two field fires caused by arson attacks in East Tilbury yesterday.
Five fire crews from Grays, Basildon, Orsett and Corringham raced to a field on fire in Trent yesterday at 3.40pm.
The fire which took an hour and a half to extinguish was tackled with hose reel jets and beaters.
Four fire crews from Grays, Orsett, Corringham were also called to field fire involving four hectares of stubble in Colne, East Tilbury yesterday at 7.05pm.
Crews used three hose reel jets, two back pack sprayers and two beaters to tackle the blaze by 7.45pm.
Firefighters said both the cause of both fires had been recorded as deliberate.
It is not yet known if anyone was injured. More to follow.
