Thirty-nine tennis ladies gathered at Orsett Golf Club recently to celebrate their annual Lady Captain’s Day.
All the ladies dressed in white to celebrate the theme of the day: ‘Wimbledon’ and enjoyed Danish pastries and Bucks Fizz followed by a ‘shotgun start’ for their 18-hole competition.
Three huts on the course were decorated to represent moments in the Lady Captain’s life with the hut at the 12th serving Pimms and pastries to the players.
Joyce McFarlane from the club said: “The arrival of the Lady Captain Sue Mason was greeted with raised tennis rackets, net and tennis balls. It was a wonderful day.”
