Ten Grays Convent school girls have made it back from the wilds of Ghana after fulfilling a lifelong dream to volunteer in Africa.
Two teachers went along on the week-long trip, where pupils worked to repair the classroom floor of a primary school in Woe, Ghana.
The group of girls also got drumming lessons and a visit to Kakum National Rain Forest where they got to "touch real crocodiles".
The volunteers filled half of their luggage with clothing and toys to distribute to the needy.
Sponsored walks, a quiz night and a variety show at the school had raised the funds for the expedition.
Amy Chapman from the school said: “All volunteers must be congratulated and praised for being outstanding ambassadors of Grays Convent High School.
"It is very pleasing to know that the entire trip proved to be a tremendous success.”
