The mother of four-year-old Daisy May is putting on a mega fun day this Saturday to raise money for her charity Dreams for Daisy.

Daisy-May Summerhayes, 4, from South Ockendon, suffers from cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus after being born 12 weeks early.

Her family, who live in South Ockendon, set up a charity, Dreams for Daisy, to help raise money for her treatment and also for the charity that directly assists her – Tree of Hope.

Mum Claire Summerhayes said: “Unfortunately Daisy Mays health has deteriorated rapidly over the last six weeks so this will be our last event.

“I am unable to continue to fundraise alongside caring for Daisy May.

“We would love as much support as possible with the event and really hope people will come.

“We are also raising funds for Alzheimer's Society as the other organiser Helen Netting’s mum passed away from this disease.”

The proceeds raise will help go towards life-saving surgery for Daisy.

Musicians David Van Day and Anna Marie Childs are set to play at the event, and there will be a fun dog show, street-dancing and Elvis along with food, drink and craft stalls.

The fun day will run at South Ockendon Recreation Ground on Saturday September 24. £1.50 entry from 10am to 5pm.
