Thurrock 0
Dartford 1
DARTFORD edged an interesting pre-season friendly 1-0 in a tight friendly fixture at Thurrock FC’s Ship Lane ground.
The first half was played in searing heat and both sides passed the ball around well in the early stages.
Fleet had the first chance of the afternoon as Callum Ibe and Brad Warner played a one-two, leading to Ibe having his shot which was well saved by Jason Brown in the Darts goal.
From the halfway point of the half the visitors got on top, forcing a number of corners. But the only moment of danger for Thurrock came when Andy Walker did well to tip over Lee Burns’ long-range shot.
Dartford scored early in the second half when Rory McAuley headed home from a well delivered corner.
Both sides made many changes as the half wore on and Thurrock went close as Jordan Clark lifted a chance over the bar at the back post.
Late in the game Thurrock had a good chance to level but the otherwise excellent Tarik Moore-Azille couldn’t quite force the ball home.
