IT may only be December, but the Thurrock T-Birds have wrapped up another league title.

The T-Birds crushed Richmond II 69-5 to put them an uncatchable 25 points clear of their nearest rivals.

It is the second year in a row they have won the Conference South and they will now have to wait for the conclusion of the Championship One North to find out who their opponents will be in a play-off in February.

The winners of that will then go on to face the bottom team in the Premiership with a place at rugby’s top table the prize.

In that top division are Richmond’s first team and they would certainly have presented a stiffer test than the second team who conceded 11 tries to a rampant Thurrock side.

Bex Francis completed a hat trick and Lalla Vazi and Emily Scott both claimed a brace of tries.
