STANFORD got revenge for their loss to Ongar earlier in the season by thrashing them 51-10 in the Essex League.

After good work from Matt Greenhill, Stanford got their first try when Troy Elkes went over.

Captain Matt Rumble was the next to cross the Ongar line after another tight move from the Stanford pack.

More good work from Greenhill, who combined with Gouden, saw Morley get his first try of the day.

Grounden was enjoying his day at fly-half and went over for Stanford’s next try before setting up Morley for his second try of the game.

Ricky Percival then reacted quickly to score his first try for Stanford, putting his side 32-0 up at half time.

Ongar tried to force their way back into the game but Stanford soon resumed control and Matt Rumble finished off an excellent flowing move to start the second half scoring.

Gounden then outfoxed the Ongar defence to score again before Ongar worked a very good try of their own to grab their first points of the game.

With the game drawing to a close, Morley came up with a magical kick and run that saw him score Stanford’s ninth and final try of the day.

Ongar closed the game on the last whistle with a second try.

l Stanford’s under-15s were beaten 40-10 by a strong Basildon side.

An excellent try was scored by Harvey Cassidy from the back of a scrum and Marcus Edgeway also used his power and strength to find a way across the Basildon try line to put points on the board for Stanford.
