THURROCK sunk to successive defeats in London One North, losing 41-12 at Letchworth Garden City.
T’s are now 11th in the standings but remain 15 points clear of Romford & Gidea Park who are immediately below them in the table.
Meanwhile, the fourth team faced Ilford Wanderers III.
Debutant winger Nick O’Neil went closest for T’s in the first half but was tackled just before the line to ensure it was 0-0 at the break.
The gusting wind meant T’s missed two kicked penalties while Ilford did get one between the posts.
And that kick proved the difference between the teams.
Meanwhile, Thurrock’s T-Birds were beaten 40-10 by Premiership side Richmond in the Senior Cup.
T’s competed in all areas of the game and the performance gives much hope to their prospects if they manage to beat Aylesford on March 29 and regain their Premiership status.
T’s two tries came from Georgia Cook and Faye Baker.
