The Tessa Sanderson Foundation Grays Judo Club travelled to a number of friendly and national ranking competitions in the past month, with its members performing impressively.

At the London Open, 11-year-old Boglarka Pasztor achieved an impressive bronze medal and, the following weekend, eight-year-old Napsugar Pasztor and 11-year-old Boglarka Pasztor participated at the Hampshire Split Open, returning with bronze and gold medals.

A larger team travelled to Biggin Hill for a friendly competition, with 10 medals won.

Seven-year-old Gabriella Taiwo won the only gold medal but Sophie Pasztor, aged six, Joshua Coelho, aged seven, Napsugar Pasztor and Kimberley all took home silver medals while five-year-old Jonathan Taiwo, six-year-old Asa Ward, Jan Swabinski, aged seven, Hunor Pasztor, aged 10, and Boglarka Pasztor won bronze.

A club spokesman said: “Even though we are a small and new club with little experience we are extremely proud of our players as they demonstrated great concentration and spirit.

“Their ambition paid off as they won many of their fights and brought home medals.”
