CORRINGHAM’S Liam Desmond remains unbeaten in the professional ranks after beating Chris Jenkinson at Grays’ Civic Hall.
Middleweight Desmond, 22, defeated seasoned pro Jenkinson 59-55 on points over six rounds and said afterwards: “I thought I had won every round.
“He’s a seasoned pro that’s been in with decent fellas and it was a big step up for me. It’s a good win for me, it all went to plan, I managed to outbox him and not get too involved.”
The opening fight of the night saw Desmond’s teammate, Darrel Church suffer his first pro loss on a narrow points decision to Angelo Crowe in a four round light-heavyweight Paul Hilz lost a light-heavyweight contest to Steve Cooper while super-featherweight, Martin Hillman outpointed Michael Stupart.
Light-heavyweight Joe Jackson Brown beat Jamie Ambler and welterweight George Hennon defeated Matt Seawright on his pro debut.
