THURROCK manager Mark Stimson is delighted with the make-up of his squad as they begin their pre-season campaign.

The Fleet boss has kept hold of all but one of the squad that reached the Ryman One North play-off final last season.

Simon King is the only man to have left Ship Lane, but four new faces have been brought in to boost the ranks.

Danny Francis and Theo Ola have signed from near neighbours Aveley, Ben Glasgow has been brought in from Harlow Town while Phil Anderson has returned to the club from Maldon & Tiptree.

Stimson is also pleased to have got two home draws in the FA Cup and the FA Trophy.

Fleet will welcome Evo-Stik Southern League side Royston Town to Ship Lane in the FA Cup on Saturday, August 29 while Guernsey, of Ryman Division One South, will come to Thurrock on Saturday, October 3.

Thurrock opened their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 home defeat to Ryman Premier League side Billericay Town on Saturday.
