Wroxham 1-0 Thurrock
From Trafford Park
Ryman One North
THURROCK lost their second away game in succession as they failed to find a breakthrough against Wroxham.
Fleet, who came so close to promotion last season after losing in the play-off final, started well and Joe Christou hit over the ball early on, following a quick counter-attack.
The away side hit the crossbar soon after but it was the away side who had the ball in the net first only to be denied by the linesman’s flag.
Steve Holder sent a header wide for Wroxham, but they did score on the stroke of half-time.
Nick Davey headed them in front, with a flicked effort past Rhys Madden.
Thurrock pushed forward in search of the leveller, creating a number of good openings but they were unable to make them count and Wroxham took the points.
Thurrock: Madden, Morgan, Clark, Anderson, Sutton, Goode, Christou, Clark, Francis, Wall, Stimson
