Romford 0-3 Tilbury
From Ship Lane
Ryman One North
TILBURY romped to a 3-0 win over Romford as their positive start to the season continued.
Harry Cook’s strike in the first-half and goals from substitute Neil Richmond and Emiel Aiken saw the Dockers ease to the points at Ship Lane.
And they started well, with Conor Mead shooting wide after Clarke Bogard had made a fine double save to keep parity.
Cook opened the scoring, as he broke through after a fine through ball from Aiken, to beat Romford keeper Michael Gooch with ease and Tilbury weren’t finished there.
Kurt Smith was denied by Gooch, with Aiken denied on the half-hour mark.
Romford were looking more of a threat after the break, but a double substitution changed the game.
Richmond and Tony Martin added pace, with the former assisting Aiken to double the lead. And with five minutes to go Francis Babalola played in Richmond and he beat the goalkeeper with ease.
Gary Henty’s men were in charge from the onset, and the result takes them up to sixth.
Tilbury: Bogard, Mead, J Cook (Webb), Nightingill, D Smith, Game, Babalola, Carlile, H Cook (Richmond), Aiken (Martin), K Smith
