TILBURY boss Gary Henty says his side’s strength in depth is paying off, as their impressive form continued with a win over Royston Town in the FA Trophy.

A double from midfielder Emiel Aiken helped the Dockers to beat the Hertfordshire side 4-2 at Chadfields and progress to the final qualifying round of the competition.

Tilbury have since extended their run to 15 games unbeaten in all competitions, stretching back to September 22.

With his side also still in the Essex Senior Cup and tucked in sixthplace in the league, Henty says he’s pleased to have a good squad at his disposal.

He said: “We’re really pleased as our strength in depth has been good.

“It has shown lately when a couple of weeks ago we had six or seven players unavailable, and we’re still picking up results. Everyone in the dressing room has been first class so long may it continue.

Reflecting on The Dockers win over, Henty believes it owed to his side doing their homework before the game.

He said: “I am delighted with the performance, especially in today’s conditions.

“We had Royston scouted on Tuesday, and he got it spot on. We had a game plan and the lads carried it out to the letter. It’s also important to keep the momentum going in all competitions, as winning becomes a habit. The league at the moment is the toughest we’ve had in many a season."
