Aveley 0-0 Maldon & Tiptree
From Mill Field
Ryman One North
NOTHING separated Aveley and Maldon & Tiptree on a blustery afternoon at Mill Field.
The first chance of the afternoon fell to Billy Roast, with the Maldon man striking at goal only for the Millers to clear the ball off the line.
Alex Teniola had the Millers first clear-cut chance of the afternoon but James Bransgrove was on hand to tip it away in the away goal.
Both sides continued to press, although they were battling the conditions as much as each other.
Liam Nash, usually so clinical in front of goal, struck wildly off target early in the second period, while Joe Francis was looking lively for the Jammers, as he headed just over the crossbar.
Francis missed when it was easier to score midway through the half, when he trod on the ball in front of goal.
Nash and Tarryn Allarakhia came close as the clock ticked down but the game ended goalless.
