GRAYS Athletic were unable to break down struggling Needham Market as their mid-season struggles went on.
Grays went down 2-1 at Kingstonian on Saturday but were looking for an immediate response against a Needham Market side hovering above the relegation zone.
And they started brightly, with Dumebi Dumaka hammering a drive against the post after just seven minutes.
Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson tested Danny Gay in the home goal, before shooting off target as the visitors turned the heat up.
Joe Whight hit the post as Needham pushed forward, although it was Grays that were the better of the two in the first-half.
Into the second-half, Dumaka’s strike was saved by Gay and, for the Marketmen, Ollie Mann netted only the offside flag to halt the celebrations.
Both sides shared chances as the match came to an end but there was nothing between the two.
Grays Athletic: Hadler, Ifill, Siva, Cronin, Hutchings, Symons, Michael-Percil (Little), Beaney, Dumaka, Fortnam-Tomlinson, Davidson (Carlos)
