GRAYS boxer Tey Lynn-Jones won his fourth professional bout in a technical four round fight against Chris Jenkinson Bolton at York Hall on Saturday.

Lynn-Jones edged out his Bolton opponent on points, by 40-37, not losing a round against a highly rated and experienced opponent.

He has now moved up 15 places in the rankings and continues his journey towards the title fights he is aiming for.

And the fight went well. With non-stop pressure, he was always closing his opponent down, looking to land the heavier shots but Jenkinson showed his experience by avoiding the big shots and covering up in exchanges in the first two rounds.

In the third and fourth rounds Lynn-Jones closed his opponent down better landing heavier shots and slipping counter punches that he was caught with in the earlier rounds and he would have benefitted from some additional rounds as he was clearly getting into his stride.

This was a good experience for the Thurrock man as he showed control against a frustrating opponent that would not exchange with him.

He will be having his next contest, a six rounder at Civic Hall, Grays, on Friday, September 23, with tickets available from Lynn-Jones on 07904 332593

He thanked his sponsors Mick Norcross, The Sugar Hut, Oakfield sports clinic and his supporters.
