RUNDOWN: This promises to be an evenly-matched encounter as East Thurrock look to maintain their strong start at Bath City.

Rocks are unbeaten in four in the National League South and eased past Gosport Borough 5-1 last weekend.

They currently sit 11th, two places behind their opponents today who have also hit the ground running.

Two early defeats have been followed by three victories against St Albans City, Truro City and Bishop’s Stortford to lift Bath back into the safety of the top half after a miserable season last year.

East Thurrock will have very fond memories of their last encounter, as they crushed Bath 7-1 in the FA Cup to reach the first round in 2014.

MANAGER’S VIEW: Rocks boss John Coventry said: “I have read the Bath Chronicle this week and there were some quotes from the Bath manager and he said it is not about revenge.

“The fact they didn’t perform to their potential and all we did went well doesn’t count for anything. It was a strange one.

“We go there and Bath is very lovely but we will be sitting on a coach and won’t be spending any time there.

“We are doing well and we have picked up a good amount of points in recent weeks.

“We played Tilbury in a friendly this week as Gary Henty (manager) wanted minutes and so did I. It was a good exercise.”

BETTING ODDS: Bath City 1/1, East Thurrock 85/40

TEAM NEWS: Tom Wraight is back in the squad and Sam Higgins could return in time for Monday’s match against Eastbourne Borough.
